Our purpose

Who we are

The Vancouver Island Cage Bird Society operates on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We're a non-profit organization dedicated to the responsible keeping, breeding, and exhibition of cage birds — canaries, finches, budgerigars, parrots, and other companion species.

Our members range from people who keep a single companion bird to lifelong breeders exhibiting at national shows. Everyone is welcome at a meeting before deciding to join.

National affiliation

Part of a larger community

VICBS is affiliated with the Avicultural Advancement Council of Canada (AACC), the national organization that sets standards for the exhibition, management, captive breeding, and conservation of cage birds across Canada.
